Shipment milestones from factory to Morocco

A plain-language map of the handoffs that import teams should monitor during a bilateral shipment.

Most international shipments pass through a sequence of operational handoffs: supplier readiness, cargo inspection or packing, factory collection, export documentation, port or airport acceptance, departure, transit, arrival, customs presentation, release, and final delivery. Ask for a reference number and a named contact for each handoff. The supplier should confirm cargo readiness and documents; the forwarder should confirm booking and transport milestones; the customs representative should confirm declaration progress and any request for information. Monitor exceptions early. A missing invoice, incorrect weight, delayed certificate, or mismatch in consignee details can become more expensive after arrival. Keep a short internal log of dates, decisions, and document versions. The milestone sequence varies by route and transport mode, but the principle is stable: each handoff needs an owner, a timestamp, and a document trail.
