Sea freight or air freight from Türkiye?

Air freight is usually considered when speed, product value, samples, or compact cargo matter more than transport cost. Sea freight is generally better suited to heavier or larger commercial volumes where the additional transit time can be planned. Compare more than the headline freight quote. Request the estimated transit time, cut-off dates, origin charges, destination charges, documentation fees, handling, storage risk, delivery terms, and the assumptions behind the quote. For a first shipment, ask the forwarder to explain the route, transshipment points, port handling, customs handoff, and who is responsible at each stage. A low quote with unclear exclusions is not a reliable landed-cost estimate. The right method depends on the product and commercial deadline. Use a written comparison with the same origin, destination, Incoterm, cargo dimensions, weight, and value.
